SILENTIUM
Synopsis: In the frighteningly near future, speech has been systematically regulated by the powers that be. What ostensibly began as a national effort to combat the propagation of misinformation and doctrine deemed “harmful” to the population has transformed into the perfect mode of government tyranny. With each individual granted precious few words per day based on their social status and political beliefs, those living under the repressive regime must choose their words carefully. Mackenzie, a fiery 14-year old with a penchant for illustrating, must decide how to navigate the world around her and make her mark on this muzzled society.
PRISONER
Synopsis: Peter is locked up. The 67-year old just finished serving over four decades in prison for a grisly crime committed when he was just a kid, but even so, he remains a prisoner. As he struggles to reintegrate into a society that has moved past him ideologically and technologically, Peter finds it increasingly difficult to find peace after finally attaining his freedom. He finds some semblance of solace in Barry, an ex-convict himself who runs a support group for people like them. But the demons of the past and uncertainty of the future keep Peter locked up in a prison of his own making as he struggles to find some meaning in the final years of his life.
